The Zebras

 

*Zebras are NOT striped horses. They are actually wild animals and while they are related to horses, their instincts for self preservation are much more acute than their domestic cousins.

 

*Zebras are NOT mean either. They are naturally herd animals and are very social by nature. Cooperation between herd members is essential for survival.

 

*Zebras CAN be trained. To say they could not would imply that they cannot learn. If zebras in the wild do not learn quickly, they would soon succumb to one of the many dangers that they face on a daily basis. Zebras are in fact very intelligent and learn quickly. They can be trained to do so many things, including riding and driving. Zebras do retain the instincts for self preservation that they were born with, so special care must be taken while training zebras.

 

*Zebras CAN make good pets. It is true that they may not be for everyone though. They can be dangerous and difficult if not handled correctly. With proper education and preparation, zebras can be very enjoyable to own and work with. The hard work and patience pays off in relationships built from trust. They are a lifetime commitment, since a zebra can live for 25-30 years.
